Transmontana Highway – Portugal
Aconex is providing its online collaboration solution to the €500 million (US$694m) Transmontana Highway in Portugal. Due for completion in 2011, the 130-kilometre highway will connect the cities of Bragança and Vila Real.
Aconex was selected for the project by CAET XXI, a joint venture consortium which features large international construction firms such as Soares da Costa and Ramalho Rosa Cobetar from Portugal, and Spanish firm FCC (Fomento Construcciones Contratas).
“Being an independent third party system, Aconex ensures that each organization has equal access to their required information. Aconex reflects the practices of the real world, allowing the access to information anywhere by web. Having local staff on the ground, being a specific, and well tested service to the industry and being fast and easy to deploy is a huge benefit to us, and a central reason why we chose Aconex.” – Quality Manager, CAET XXI.
