Kelowna General Hospital – Canada
The expansion of Kelowna General is one of British Columbia’s largest public-private partnership developments.
The development includes the construction of a 394,000 square foot patient care tower, which includes a new emergency department, general clinics area, surgical services and short-stay beds. It will be linked to the existing hospital building and include a rooftop helipad. The project will be built to LEED standards and also includes a new Outpatient Hospital, as well as a 34,000 square foot Clinical Campus for the University of British Columbia. Aconex is being used to manage information and link the government and private sector parties involved in the project.
“Being a PPP project, we have strict guidelines and protocols around the management of information. Aconex will not only ensure that parties can quickly access the information they need, it will also give us the visibility and accountability required. A major benefit for us is that there will be an electronic archive of every document and mail stored on the system and nothing can be deleted.” – Eric Willden, Director of Major Projects, Graham Construction.
