Rocanville Potash Mine Expansion – Canada
Cook Engineering is using the Aconex online project collaboration platform on the US$2.8 billion Rocanville mine expansion in Saskatchewan.
The expansion of Rocanville mine is expected to boost capacity by 2.7 million tonnes a year when it is completed at the end of 2012. Cook Engineering is using Aconex on its Scissors Creek development, which involves sinking a new mine shaft into a previously untapped deposit of potash. Located about a kilometer underground, it will be used to move people and equipment, with the existing shaft being converted to moving potash to the surface.
