Aconex selected for $82m Hutt Hospital expansion
Aconexhas been selected by the Hutt Valley District Health Board (Hutt Valley DHB) and architecture firm Klein Limited to provide its online information management solution to the NZ$82 million (US$47m) expansion of Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt.
Mike Lawler, Project Director at Klein Limited, said: “On this project, we have organisations based in several locations, making it more challenging to control how information is managed across the project team. With the project based in Wellington, the project manager and architect in Auckland and other members of the team in Christchurch, it made sense to use a system that provides a fast, accurate, and accountable method of distributing information.”
The Hutt Hospital redevelopment includes the construction of eight new operating theatres, the expansion of the Emergency Department and the relocation of a number of other hospital departments. The hospital includes a world-renowned plastic, maxillofacial and burns unit, regional rheumatology, public health, school dental and breast screening services. The redevelopment is due for completion in 2012.
Leigh Jasper, Aconex Chief Executive Officer, said: “Developments such as the Hutt Hospital expansion will serve the community for years to come, so we’re pleased to be involved in this project. The timely and accurate exchange of information is at the core of project success, and using Aconex will help keep tasks on track by cutting the time, cost and risk associated with using paper documents.”
