Aconex certified to ISO 27001
Aconex has announced that the company has achieved ISO27001 certification – the highest international standard for information security management.
This achievement follows rigorous and independent review of the company’s information security management system (ISMS) for the development and support of the Aconex online collaboration platform.
An ISMS helps determine how information is handled, including processing, storage, transfer, and archiving. The Aconex system was evaluated for:
- Confidentiality: only those authorized to see the information have access
- Integrity: accuracy and completeness of information is safeguarded by robust sourcing, processing, updating and storage processes
- Availability: authorized users have access to information when they need it.
Leigh Jasper, CEO, said “Project information is a sensitive and critical asset for public and private organizations. Certification recognizes the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing the information risks faced by our clients, and demonstrates a higher level of information security than most businesses could expect to achieve in their own right.”
Jasper added, “By endorsing the company’s internal information security management systems and processes – in addition to those that apply in the third party hosted environment - it sets a security benchmark in project collaboration that our clients can rely on.”
The scope of certification includes the Production Operations team at Aconex, the application data center and geographically separate disaster recovery center used by the business in Australia. The global network of data centers and disaster recovery centers (including those located in the United States, which are among the most secure in the world and host large volumes of US Government data), are not covered by the current certification. Work is underway to extend the scope to include these in 2012.
Aconex is the world’s most widely-used online collaboration platform for construction and engineering projects. The Aconex Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform allows the entire project ecosystem to collaborate from any location using a secure, web-based interface.Back to news
