P3 Integrated Health Facility Rises on Aconex

Project name: Access Prairies Partnership Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford | Industry: Health & EducationProject size: US$317 million | Location: North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada

A public-private partnership (P3) led by Graham Design Builders managed the design and construction of this integrated health facility for the government of Saskatchewan. The project represents an innovative approach to providing correctional facility patients with mental health care and support. The facility, located approximately one hour north of Saskatoon, is built to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standard of sustainability. According to Ernst & Young, organizing the project as a P3 saved taxpayers 18% of the total project cost.

  • Secure mobile access to project data from anywhere, at any time.
  • Robust document control to ensure that everyone was working from the current version of documents and drawings.
  • Structured communications to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

Results

  • Change management that positively shaped the way the project team worked together.
  • Reduction of core processes – tendering, design reviews, RFIs – from several weeks to days or hours.
  • Acceleration of project execution and reduction of rework.
  • Minimization of conflict through a comprehensive project audit trail.
