What is Project Archive?

Archive your project data as a point-in-time snapshot of your project.

Project Archives provide you with an accurate and searchable copy of all of your organization’s project correspondence and documents, including its metadata. An archive can be created at any stage of the project, at regular intervals or at completion, depending on your needs.

There are two ways to work with Project Archive:

  1. Online Project Archive – an online archive which is available only to your organization through secure login.
  2. Offline Project Archive – an encrypted package of your project delivered via secure hard drive/USB.

Offline archives

An offline Project Archive is a local, read-only copy of your project data that's a lot like working with your project in Aconex.

Your offline archive includes the entire content of your mail and document registers, including all historical versions of every document as well as mail attachments and threads.

Your offline archive offers a wide range of functionality: 

  • Search for documents and mail with standard Aconex search capability.
  • Export search results to Microsoft Excel for reporting.
  • View all of your documents, including mark-ups and document history.
  • View the event log for every document.
  • View sent or received mail, including transmittals and associated attachments.
  • Easily open and save mail attachments.
  • Access full mail thread information.
  • Print project mails.

Online archives

An online Archive exists within Aconex: effectively, your organization retains read-only access to the project online for a period of seven years.

An online Archive offers you access to your project from anywhere at any time, retaining all the great advantages of Aconex’s search and reporting functionality without having to worry about installing or maintaining any software.

With an online archive you can:

  • Search for documents and mail with standard Aconex search capability.
  • Export search results to Microsoft Excel for reporting.
  • View all of your documents, including markups and document history.
  • View the event log for every document.
  • View sent or received mail, including transmittals and associated attachments.
  • Easily open and save mail attachments.
  • Access full mail thread information.
  • Print project mails.
  • Send jobs to a printer using Aconex.
  • Access your information on the Tenders Module.
  • Search and view completed workflows.
